Jimmie Plank

Jimmie Allen Plank, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016, at his home. He was born June 14, 1950, in Salem, Missouri, the son of the late James and Betty (Parker) Plank. He attended Fort Zumwalt High School and graduated from Vienna High School in Vienna, Missouri. Jimmie was united in marriage in August 25, 1979, in Cuba, Missouri, to Terri Wagner, who survives at their home. Jimmie worked for Jefferson Asphalt from 1982 until his retirement in 2004. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1969 - 1975. He served in the Vietnam War and was highly decorated, receiving the Purple Heart, Two Bronze Stars, and several other honorable medals. Jimmie was a member of the Laborers Union Local 662, and the American Legion. He loved to fish and hunt, especially deer. He also loved chocolate, basketball, and St. Louis Cardinal baseball. Most of all, Jimmie dearly loved his family, especially his three grandchildren. Along with his wife Terri, Jimmie is also survived by a son: Matthew Plank (wife Tracy) of Jefferson City; a daughter: Amié Blythe Plank-Creed (husband Brian) of Jefferson City; a sister: Donna Canziani of St. Louis; and three grandchildren: Sophia Grace Plank, Mia Blythe Creed, and Vayda Ann Lucas. Besides his parents, Jimmie was also preceded in death by two children: Charles A. Plank in 1973, Sara K. Plank in 1983; a grandson: Gabriel Allen Creed; a sister: Debbie Plank; and maternal grandparents: Charles and Viola Parker. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
