Edith Blomberg

Edith J. Blomberg, 97, of Jefferson City, formerly of Eldon, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. She was born August 24, 1918 in Valetta, Malta, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jane (DeGeorgio) Paschalson. On January 21, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York, she was united in marriage to Herbert H. Blomberg. who preceded her in death on January 6, 1990. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Sodality and the VFW Post #2442 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Jane Johnson (Tom) of Jefferson City, Richard Blomberg (Debbie) of Jefferson City, Eileen Weiss (Russell) of Lee's Summit; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Joseph Paschalson, Helen Watson, Eddie Paschalson, George Paschalson, John Paschalson and Ruth McBride. The stars in heaven will shine brighter now that Edith is there. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Msgr. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name are suggested to the Heisinger Bluffs Benevolent Fund, 1002 W. Main St., Jefferson City, MO 65109. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
