Lillian Josephine Schellmann, 99, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 8, 1916, in Wardsville, Mo., to Aloys and Mathilda (Hoelscher) Rackers, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on November 5, 1935, in Wardsville, Mo., to Clarence W. Schellmann who preceded her in death on February 22, 1993. She was a 1932 graduate of Mariwood College of Beauty Culture in Jefferson City. She worked as a beautician in her early years. She took pride in being a homemaker, raising her children, and being a farmer's wife. Lillian was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Sew-N-Sew quilting group and an Ambrose 4-H Club Leader. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook, quilt and travel. Most of all, she loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She is survived by: five daughters, Rochelle (Bernard) Luetkemeyer of Jefferson City, Carol (James) Huhmann of Jefferson City, Monica (Joseph) Castagno of Ellisville, Mo., Joan (Aloysius) Luebbering of Jefferson City and Madelene (Ray) Wilson of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Logan (Sue Ann) Schellmann of Olathe, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: one son-in-law, Donald Luetkemeyer; two brothers, Ralph Rackers and Carl Rackers; and two sisters, Mildred Bruemmer and Dorothy Mertens. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel with prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. John Schmitz officiating. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Charity of the Donor's Choice.
