Betty Schuler

Mrs. Betty J. Schuler, age 80 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at her home. Betty was born September 27, 1935, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Leland M. and Ruby P. Jones Nicholas. She was married on November 26, 1976, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Jack G. Schuler who preceded her in death on February 24, 2003. Betty was a 1953 graduate of Pickering High School, Pickering, Mo. and a graduate of the St. Joseph Business College in St. Joseph, Mo. A resident of the Jefferson City area for most of her life, Betty was employed as an Executive Secretary with the City of Jefferson for 27 years until her retirement in March 1996, due to health reasons. Betty was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafting, oil painting, reading and bird watching. She was a volunteer at Capital Region Medical Center. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and her dogs, Heidi and Suzie. Survivors include: one son, Jeffrey A. Treese and his wife Jean of Jamestown, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Shannon Treese of Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jennifer Eck and her husband Bryan, Stacey Kinder and her husband Korey, Jillian Treese and her boyfriend Scott Rikard, and Jessica Treese and her fiancé, Zach Beringer; and six great-grandchildren, Elle Baggs, Dayne Eck, Cari Eck, Keegan Kinder, Kameron Kinder, and Drake Rikard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, David Treese in 2014. Visitation will be at the Wesley United Methodist Church from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016, at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
