Paris Bartley

Paris Monroe Bartley, 85, of Fulton, was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, January 3, 2016. He was born in Mokane, Mo., on February 10, 1930, the son of the late Paris Bartley and the late Marie (Brooks) Bartley. On July 22, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Ruth (Mosley) Bartley. She preceded him in death on February 7, 1994. He later married Betty (Frazier) Bartley. She survives his passing. Monroe was a 1948 graduate of Fulton High School. He farmed his entire life, first as a young boy handling a team of horses and mules. During and after his high school years, Monroe worked as a mechanic for the John Deere Dealer in Fulton. In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and would serve 13 months in the Korean Conflict prior to his discharge in 1953. He finished his career after 40 years in Quality Control for Danuser Machine Company. Monroe was an active member of Hams Prairie Christian Church for more than 80 years. He was a 50-year member of Mokane Masonic Lodge 612 and a member of the Mokane Chapter of Eastern Star 352. He was an avid supporter of the South Callaway Bulldogs. Monroe treasured his time with family and friends, family dinners and working on his farm. Monroe will be greatly missed by his family, including his wife, Betty; sons, Kenneth Bartley (S. Diane) of Columbia, Noland Bartley (Tammy) of Fulton and Roland Bartley (Tina) of Fulton; brother, Forrest "Dutch" Bartley of Mokane; sister, Kay Humphrey (John) of Mokane; grandchildren, Angela Bartley Reeder (Joe), Tucker Bartley (Elise), Grady Bartley (Mackenzie Price), Eli Bartley (Brittany) and Hannah Bartley; and great grandchildren, Gwyneth Monroe Bartley and RuthAnn Reeder. Along with his parents and first wife, Monroe was preceded in death by brother, Donald Bartley and sister, Carolyn Lehman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Hams Prairie Christian Church with Pastors Don Daniels and Ben Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with a Masonic Service being held at 7:30. Interment with Military Honors will be in Hams Prairie Cemetery.
