Grace Leinberger

Grace Leinberger, age 66, of Linn, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, after a battle with cancer. She resided in Linn, Missouri since 1980. She was the daughter of Kendall and Catherine Evans, both of Osage County, and preceding her in death. A son, Eric Leinberger, also preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Grace accomplished many noteworthy things. Professionally, she worked for Scholastics in Jefferson City for over 20 years. She started as a customer service representative and concluded her tenure there as the administrative assistant for her department. In her community, Grace was most recently a 10 year veteran member of the Osage Ambulance District Board, and board chair person for the past two years. Grace also was as a certified rifle and pistol coach for USA Shooting, the Civilian Marksmanship Program, and the National Rifle Association. She was a life member and benefactor member of the NRA, and the Vice President of the Missouri Sport Shooting Association which is an affiliate of the NRA. Simultaneously, Grace served as a State Director for the Civilian Marksmanship Program. As a result of her commitment to these programs, she positively affected the lives of many people, to include those of junior shooters across the United States. Lastly, but most importantly, Grace was a true and sincere person. She strove to make the world a better place, and to find the best in everyone she met. In fact, her ability to bring a group of people together towards a common goal, and achieve it, was amazing. The success of her family, community, and the previously mentioned organizations are a testament to the success of her efforts. She is survived by her husband, John E. Leinberger of Linn, Missouri; two sons, Kendall Goben and wife Cristina of Florida, and Lucas Leinberger and wife Celeste in Texas; and eight grandchildren: Zachary Goben, Kayla Goben, Alex Goben, Emily Goben, Caroline Goben, Bryan Gomez, Joseph Green Leinberger, and Sean Leinberger.
