Hazel Margaret Bond, 93, of Eldon, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015, at her residence in Eldon. On December 28, 1921, she was born in Bagnell, Missouri, the daughter of the late Dan Ward and Viola Ruth (Cunningham) Bond. On December 24, 1938, in Tuscumbia, she was united in marriage to Wyeth A. Bond, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2004. Hazel taught Sunday school, was in the choir and led singing at the Mt. Herman Baptist Church for over 20 years. She also sang in the choir and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon, for over 20 years. She was an Auxiliary member of the Gideon's International. Survivors include: daughters, Audrey Bunch (Roy) of Greenwood, and Ruth Ann Hayes of Eldon; daughter-in-law, Connie (Gracy) Bond of Jefferson City; son, Wyeth E. Bond (Eula Maye) of Lexington, S.C.; sisters, Opal Schupp and Corrine Hawkens both of Eldon; brothers, Raymond Bond (Maxine) of Eldon, Lyle Bond (Helen) of Yakama, Wash., and Donald Bond (Pat) of Vallejo, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Louise Bond of Yakama, Wash., and Peggy Bond of Pleasant Hill; 11 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A son, Danny Lee Bond, one grandson, Darryl Bond, four sisters; and three brothers preceded her in death. Visitation will be Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Eldon with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David White and Rev. Tony English officiating. Interment will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Gideon's International. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
