Rosalyn A. Struemph

Rosalyn A. Struemph, 88, of Freeburg, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Westphalia Hills Retirement Center, on the birth date of her husband, Bud. She was born July 31, 1926, in Rich Fountain, the daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Holtschneider) Schroeder. On November 7, 1945, she married Bernard F. Struemph in Freeburg, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2002. Rose was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, a member of the Holy Family quilting club and auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 317. She was the owner and operator of Rose's Beauty Shop and she and her husband, Bud co-owned the Freeburg Processing Plant. Rose enjoyed going to the casinos and playing the slot machines, playing cards, quilting and spending time at the river with her family and friends. She is survived by three sons: Harold (Linda) Struemph, David (Careen) Struemph, both of Freeburg, and Gary (Nancy) Struemph of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren: Gena (Mark) Kloeppel, Jerry (Marcie) Struemph, Shannon Struemph (friend Ralph Samples), Andre (Kristen) Struemph, Amanda Struemph, Toni (Marty) Miller and Kelly Struemph (fiancÈ Homer Shrum); one sister: Mildred Luetkemeyer; four sisters-in-law: Kate Wegman, Liz Stratman, Teresa Bushman, Cecelia Schmitz; brother-in-law: James Struemph; and 12 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Struemph; two sisers: Gerri Uhl and Betty Schroeder; one brother: James Schroeder; two sisters-in- law: Marie Ortbals and Loretta Klein; and two brothers-in-law: Emil Struemph and John Struemph. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015, Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Nicholas Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
