Carol Sawyer, 71, of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, after suffering a heart attack. Carol was born July 31, 1942, in Joplin, Mo. She and her husband Ken lived and raised their family in Jefferson City, Mo. for nearly 30 years, before retiring to Houston in 2007. Carol was an active member of Cy-Fair Christian Church, involved in the women's ministry. She loved her family, especially her time with her grandkids. Carol is survived by her husband, Ken; sons, Jeff and Greg Sawyer; daughters-in-law, Gretchen and Liz Sawyer; grandkids, Hannah, Emma, Griffin and Haley Sawyer; brothers, Leon and Harold Hoofnagle, both of Joplin, Mo.; and sisters, Mary Stephens of Torrance, Calif. and Helen Wallace of Temecula, Calif. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, Texas with visitation Monday, November 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family asks that any memorial donations be made to Tanglewood Christian Camp.
