Mary A. Brandt

Mary A. Brandt, age 71, of Frankenstein, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2013, at her home. Mary was born October 31, 1942, in Frankenstein, a daughter of the late Joseph and Regina (Dudenhoeffer) Troesser. She married her high school sweetheart, Leo H. Brandt, on June 3, 1961 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. He preceded her in death at their home on April 28, 2005. Mary attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Fatima High School. She was a member of the Lady's Sodality and a 4-H Leader. Mary was employed with Scholastics for 16 years where she received several "Highest Standard Achiever" awards for her dedication to the company. Her true passion was homemaking where she made the saying "Home Sweet Home" live to its true meaning each day. She showed her care and love by doing for others. She led by example and maintained a strong insight, embracing high moral values and care of her family. Her grandchildren were the joy and devotion of her life. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to ride a bike, play cards, and cook. They certainly have never gone short of having books to read. Mary also enjoyed working in her garden, canning, crocheting, and reading. She had a heart of gold and will always be known for her compassion and giving spirit. Mary is survived by: daughter, Diane Stiefermann and her husband Mark of Jefferson City; son, Alan Brandt and his wife Lori of Jefferson City; daughter, Mary Lea Kieffer of Kansas City, Mo.; and daughter, Jane VanderFeltz and her husband Jason of Jefferson City. There are seven grandchildren, Ryan and Leah Stiefermann, Brandon and Shelby Brandt, Katelyn, Jacob and Kolton VanderFeltz. Also included are sisters, Josephine Rustemeyer of Farmington, Florence Schaefer and her husband Daniel of Loose Creek; and brother, John Troesser and his wife Vicki of Sulphur, La. In addition to her spouse and parents, Mary was preceded in death by: two brothers, Clarence and Norman Troesser; and three sisters, Rita Marie Troesser, Rita Theresa Troesser, and Dorothy Rustemeyer. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. John Schmitz as the Celebrant. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery in Frankenstein. In lieu of flowers, Mary requested that memorials be sent to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, St. Mary's Hospice or a donation of choice.
