Jerome Bernard Brondel

Jerome Bernard Brondel, age 82, of Eldon, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013. Jerome was born November 3, 1931 to Charles and Marie (Rau) Brondel. Jerome graduated from Tipton High School, Tipton, and served during the Korean Conflict as an Army Platoon Sergeant 35th Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He retired after a 40 year career with Hallmark Cards, Inc., Kansas City. Jerome and Dolores moved to Eldon where Jerome became a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also actively involved with the Miller County Historical Society, the Eldon Chapter of D.A.R. and the Honor Guard of the VFW Post 2442 of Eldon. Jerome had many and varied interests including many years of attendance at the annual Russellville Steam Engine Show and the Oshkosh Air Show. He will be missed by his sister, Evelyn Jobe of San Jose, Calif.; his brother, Harry and wife Vena Brondel of Sugar Land, Texas; his step-sister, Ruth Ann and husband Marvin Schuster of Cataula, Ga.; his step-daughter, Sherry Davis of Kansas City, Kan.; step-daughter, Valorie Shipley of Boonville, and her children, Jason Everett of San Francisco, Calif. and Adria Everett of Kansas City; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Charlie Brondel; his granddaughter, Autumn Brondel; most recently by his wife, Evelyn Dolores Brondel; half-brother, Wayne Allen Schuster; and step-sister, Millie Lammers. His family would like to express their appreciation to his many friends for their support. Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon, with a Funeral Mass beginning at 7:30 p.m. with Msgr. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Cemetery in St. Martins, with full military honors provided by the VFW Post #2442 of Eldon. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eldon. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
