Donna Lee Meyer

Donna Lee Meyer, 66, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, in Jefferson City. She was born November 29, 1946, in Jefferson City, Missouri, daughter of the late Arthur S. and Norma L. (Bittick) Strope. On July 20, 1974, she was united in marriage to David F. Meyer, who survives at the home. Donna was a 1964 graduate of Helias Catholic High School and attended Merrell University. She was a long-time beautician in Jefferson City and was owner of Korner Antique and Collectibles. She enjoyed filling the store with antiques, painting and working on craft projects. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends but especially her grandchildren. Along with her husband, David, she is survived by six children: Keith Mueller (Lora) of Jefferson City, Michelle Loethen (Lance) of Russellville, Julie Schrimpf (Shannon) of Jefferson City, Jayme Prenger (Chris Rodriguez) of Jefferson City, Paul Meyer (Lori) of Lohman, and Jonathan Meyer of Holts Summit; four brothers: Gary Strope (Evelyn) of Meeker, Colorado, Doug Strope (Mary), Steve Strope and Jim (Dee) Strope, all of Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren: Taylor Wolz and Kaleb Mueller, Jared and Shelby Loethen, Tristan and Tanner Schrimpf, Ashley and Clayton Meyer, and Taylor and Joseph Meyer; and her aunt: Virginia Surbaugh. She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Mary Meyer, along with nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Humane Society or Puppies for Parole.
