Evelyn Francis Stratman, age 84 years, of Vienna, departed this life on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City. She was born April 2, 1929, at Folk, a daughter of Ben and Hilda (Kaiser) Huhn. Evelyn was united in marriage on July 5, 1952, at Folk, to Cellus Fred Stratman, and to this union, four children were born. Evelyn was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, and the Ladies Sodality of the Church where she served as the funeral luncheon coordinator for over 50 years. She was co-owner and bookkeeper of Stratman Truck Service, Vienna, since 1954. A few of her favorite activities were cooking, ceramics, embroidering, and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker who always spent ample time with her family and was attentive to their needs. Those left to mourn the passing of Evelyn include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Nancy Stratman and Donald and Robin Stratman, all of Vienna; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Mark Welschmeyer, Southlake, Texas; six grandchildren, Jonathan and Christy Welschmeyer, Keller, Texas; Danielle and Sean Anderson, Frisco, Texas; Erica and Sheldon Boessen, Mary's Home; Elizabeth Stratman, Vienna; Jennifer Stratman and friend, Craig Berhorst, Vienna; and Tyce Stratman, Vienna; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James and Clair Ann Huhn and Edward Huhn, all of Folk; and Joey and Alice Huhn, St. Martins; three sisters, Ethel Huhn and Bernice Bexten, both of Westphalia; and Marilyn Loethen, Hallsville; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 10, 2012; an infant son in 1957; her father on August 4, 1957; her mother on October 4, 1998; four brothers: infant Robert Huhn, Jerome Huhn, Clarence Huhn, and Vincent Huhn; and two sisters, Hermina Fitzpatrick and Elaine Huhn. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Evelyn at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with the officiating of Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz and Father Matthew Flatley. Interment will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. and 9-9:30 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, all in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Visitation Catholic Church and Cemetery or the Vienna Senior Citizens Center with envelopes available at the church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
