Louis F. Fischer Jr.

Louis F. Fischer Jr., 72, of Hartsburg, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his home. Louis was born October 4, 1940, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Louis Fischer Sr. and Ofa Cardwell Fischer. Louis graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1958, he then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He joined the Jefferson City Fire Department, where he served the citizens of Jefferson City for 30 years. Louis also served as a volunteer firefighter for 15 years, with the Southern Boone Fire Department. He married Carolyn Nichols Kidwell, April 29, 1991, in Hartsburg and she survives. He was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Hartsburg. In his free time, Louis enjoyed the great outdoors, especially spending time out on the river with his loving wife, Carolyn. Survivors also include his daughters, Julie Herzog and husband Bradley, Cynthia Silber and husband Michael, all of Kansas City, Mo.; two step-sons, Shawn Kidwell and Nathan Kidwell; one sister, Barbara Carel and husband Richard; two grandsons, Chad Herzog, Trevor Silber; three granddaughters, Jordan Herzog, Stephanie and Monica Silber; numerous nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Funeral services will be held at Robinson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
