Raymond S. Hall, 91, of California, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at St. Maryís Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. He was born January 14, 1922, in Moniteau County, the son of Beuford and Edna Cornelia Rohrbach Hall, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on February 14, 1960, in Jamestown, Mo., to Mildred M. Schoenthal, who survives at the home. Raymond was a lifelong farmer. He was a active member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church. He was a delegate of the local MFA board for 65 years and also the MFA Oil state board of directors for 26 years. He was on the board of Tipton Latham Bank for 35 years and was involved in numerous other local organizations. Raymond was an Army, WWII veteran where he served with the 90th Infantry Division Combat Engineers. He stormed Utah Beach on June 8, 1944, and fought in 5 major battles, including the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war he was near Prague, Czechoslovakia. He was a 1941 graduate of Latham High School. Raymond is survived by one daughter, Sue Ann Loesch and husband Bill of Jefferson City, Mo.; one grandson, Nicholas Loesch of Jefferson City, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Officiating will be Floyd Leimkiller. Burial with full military honors will be in the California City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
