Shirley Ann (Depke) White, age 77, Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013. Shirley was born May 8, 1936, to Otto J. and Lydia E. (Walter) Depke, in Fremont County, near Shenandoah, Iowa. Shirley grew up in a home that was a former stagecoach stop, attended Manti and Nishna Valley Country Schools, and graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1954. Shirley then began a 10-year career at the Credit Bureau Federation of Shenandoah, where she earned the honor of "Miss Efficiency, 1961-1962". She met her true-love, Don, and they married April 12, 1964, at the First Methodist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. They had two children, Russell and Karee. Shirley's greatest love was her family, but was also devoted to her church, community and friends. Anyone who knew Shirley knew she was fond of entertaining and cooking! She is known for the beautiful parties she hosted - either for Don and work events, church or organization meetings, bridge and card games, or for family and friends; as well as helping anyone in need.
