Marschel E. Croy, 84, of California, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 20, 1929, in Gravios Mills, the son of Andrew, who preceded him in death, and Ada (Delozier) Croy, who survives of Centertown. He was united in marriage on April 17, 1948, at the United Methodist Church in California, to Betty Newkirk, who preceded him in death on March 10, 2007. He worked construction throughout his life. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed mowing his grass and he loved to fish. Marschel is survived by one son, David Croy and wife Elvera of Wooldridge; two daughters, Linda Bryan and husband Butch of Rocky Mount, and Barbara Shaffer and her husband Steve of Branson; two brothers, James Croy and wife Dorothy of Jefferson City, and Jerry Croy and wife Sharon of Centertown; one sister, Chlora Reimler and husband Robert of Centertown; two sister-in-laws, Alma Hoellering and Louise Newkirk, both of California; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Abby Croy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Officiating will be Pastor Josh Crider. Burial will be in the California City Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
