Patsy Kay Bottoms

Patsy Kay Bottoms, 69, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at St. Maryís Health Center. She was born October 3, 1943, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Clem and Frankie (Elgin) Surface. On May 29, 1971, Patsy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Larry Gayle Bottoms, who preceded her in death on July 16, 2002. A lifelong resident of Jefferson City and member of Faith Lutheran Church, Patsy recently became a member and attended First Baptist Church in Jefferson City. She was employed by the Missouri Dept. of Revenue from 1966 ñ 1988 when her health forced her into retirement. Patsy loved sewing, reading, spending time with her family telling stories of her childhood, and enjoyed her years living next to her mother; Frankie. Survivors include two step-sons: Kelly Bottoms (Pat) of Garden City, Mo., Michael Bottoms (Carrie) of Nixa, Mo.; one step-daughter: Diana Wiebusch (Bob) of Harrisonville, Mo.; her mother: Frankie Surface of Jefferson City; one brother: Daniel Surface of California, Mo.; four sisters: Minnie (Gene) Kirwan of Jefferson City, Mo., Juanita (Ray) Woods of California, Mo., Verna (Gary) Clark of California, Mo., and Birdie McFeeters of Cole Camp, Mo.; 10 grandchildren: Laura, Howard, Whitney, Allison, Collin, Taylor, Whitney, Alex, Kolton, and Seth; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Becky Weston; and a host of numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her deeply. Patsy was preceded in death by her father: Clem Surface; two brothers: Lester Surface, and Troy Surface; and one sister: Linda Holliday. Graveside celebration of life services for Patsy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City with Pastor Brint Hilliard officiating.
