Kathleen C. Kuttenkuler

Kathleen C. Kuttenkuler, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, in Elmira, New York. She was hospitalized during a visit to attend a family wedding in Ithaca, New York. Kathleen was born January 11, 1927, in Taos, Missouri, the eldest daughter of Fronie (Veltrop) and Alex Lauf. Having lived in Elmira, New York for over 30 years, Kathleen was active in politics, assisting her husband "Cy" Kuttenkuler, longtime Democratic Councilman and City Chamberlain. A member of St. Casimir's Catholic Parish and the White Eagle's Club, she was active with Girl Scouts and the White Eagle's youth bowling league. Kathleen and long-time friend Fran Snyder, operated K&S Company, a wallpaper installation service. She is survived by her children: Cheryl Beece, of Ormond Beach, Florida, William Kuttenkuler, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Diane Kuttenkuler, of Jefferson City, Missouri; two sisters: Rita May, of Cuba, Missouri and Leah Schwartz, of St. Louis, Missouri; along with 18 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Cyril Kuttenkuler, brother: Harold Lauf, and sister: Joan Nacy. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday July 5, 2013, at the Houser Millard Funeral Chapel with a prayer service to be held at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately after Mass. Interment will be private for the family at the St. Andrew Parish Cemetery, Tipton, Missouri.
