Marvin L. Buschjost

Marvin L. "Butch" Buschjost, age 81, of St. Thomas, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his home. He was born in St. Thomas on August 16, 1931, son of the late Louis and Cecilia (Strope) Buschjost. On July 11, 1959, in St. Elizabeth, he married Evelyn Rose Oligschlaeger, who survives at the home. Mr. Buschjost was a Third Degree member of St. Thomas Knights of Columbus and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member with the St. Jude General Assembly. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He is also survived by four children, Gregory Buschjost and wife Jeanie of Fulton, Douglas Buschjost of Jefferson City, Curtis Buschjost and wife Sharon of Jefferson City, and Susan Wood and husband Corey of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren, Ben Buschjost, Sara Buschjost, Lindsey Buschjost, Justin Buschjost, Alex Buschjost, Brock Buschjost, Derek Wood, and Kendall Wood; one brother, Larry Buschjost and wife Patty of Lake Ozark; and one special cousin, Mary Ann O'Neill and husband Rich of Russellville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Rev. Jeremy Secrist will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 2, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Thomas Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
