Mrs. Earlvada Ruth Scott, age 91, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Ruth was born January 18, 1921, to Earl and Bonnie Veasman, and was raised in Dixon, Mo. She was a 1938 graduate of Dixon High School and attended Capitol Business College in Jefferson City, Mo. In 1940, Ruth married William Paul Scott of Russellville, Mo. Ruth enjoyed working with the people of the Missouri Conservation Commission, Russell Wren Insurance, Legislative Research, Senate Enrolling, and the Missouri Baptist Convention. Ruth's commitment to her family and friends was one of the greatest gifts she bestowed. Her generosity, strong beliefs, and sense of humor touched many lives. Ruth, our friend, our Grammy and our Mom will be loved endlessly. Ruth had a steadfast faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, David Paul Scott and his wife Kay of Stilwell, Kan.; two sisters, Ruby Flesher of Lebanon, Mo. and Erpyle F. Keene of North Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Christopher Scott of Rochester, N.Y., Sam Scott, and Sarah Ruth (Scott) Walsh with husband David; five great-grandchildren, Andy, Mike and C.J. Scott, and Vada and Benjamin Walsh; and one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Scott, in 1980 and her son, Michael D. Scott, in 1975. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2012. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Freeman Chapel.
