Linda K. (Dutcher) Martin, 61, of California, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at her residence. She was born on September 9, 1950 at Latham Hospital, California, to Lester Lee and Norma Jean (Hayes) Dutcher. She was united in marriage on December 27, 1975, in Independence, to Ed Martin, who survives of the home. Linda was a graduate of Truman High School in Independence and attended the College of the Sequoias. She was a member of the KC Board of Trade and the Chicago Board of Trade, she worked for the Missouri Dept. of Conservation, and as secretary for the California Chamber of Commerce and California Progress, Inc. She was a member of High Point Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Lions' Club, and enjoyed crocheting and motorcycle rides. She was passionate about NASCAR racing, especially Carl Edwards, and was equally passionate about Mizzou Tiger sports. She is also survived by her mother, Norma Jean Dutcher; two daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Schneider and husband John of California, and Tammy Brandes and husband Bobby of Bunceton; one brother, Larry Dutcher and wife Barb of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Lynnette Bowles and husband Rusty of Kansas City; four grandchildren, DJ, Layne, Cody and Cooper; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Lee Dutcher. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Don Almond. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to either the National Lupus Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or Hospice Compassus, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
