Helen E. Fisher, 88, of Tebbets, Missouri, and formerly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born on July 5, 1922, in Kinmundy, Illinois, the daughter of the late Edward Aumiller and Anna Bessie (Chance) Aumiller. She married Edmond O. Fisher on August 8, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2005. Helen started working at the Mount Vernon Garment Factory in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She then worked at the International Shoe Company in Eldon, Missouri and retired from the International Shoe Company in St. Clair, Missouri. After retirement, she worked with her husband doing maintenance for the First Baptist Church in St. Clair, Missouri. Helen was a current member of the Community Christian Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, especially Roses, African Violets and Orchids. She loved listening to her husband play the guitar and harmonica and traveling with him and his band, Fisher and Company, as they played at local nursing homes. Helen enjoyed accompanying her husband on fishing trips to the Lake of the Ozarks. While living with her daughter, she enjoyed riding around the farm with her son-in-law, Roger on his ATV checking on the cows. After her husband's death, her two blonde Cocker Spaniels, "Lady and Boss" were a great comfort to her. Surviving family members include her two daughters: Joyce Dickson and husband Rodger of Tebbetts, Missouri and Sheryl Olson of Tebbetts, Missouri; six grandchildren: Leslie, Lisa, Michael, Jeff, Jimmy and Kenny; three great-grandchildren: Stephanie, John and Victoria; four brothers: Raymond, Calvin, Robert and David Aumiller; five sisters: Mildred Aumiller, Margaret Wheeler, Martha Jhar, Genevieve Bruce and Neva Deal; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, husband and one brother: John Aumiller preceded her in death. Visitiation will be held from 12 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend David Avery will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Community Christian Church in Jefferson City, Missouri and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
