Alta Tellman

Alta Mae Tellman, 86, of Jefferson City, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at her residence. She was born on January 5, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Everdhardt and Nellie Bolten. Her family moved to Jefferson City, while she was still a baby where she spent the rest of her life. She was married to Jerry Tellman, on the 4th of November 1942, who survives at the home. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Jefferson City and was a past member of the Lady's Lions Club of Branson, where she resided for 14 years. She loved to go camping, RVing, and going fishing and floating on the rivers. When she was not camping, she loved to play bingo, where she formed friendships with many bingo buddies. She also loved to go to the casino. She worked at Montgomery Wards for several years and was a hostess and cashier for several restaurants in the Jefferson City area. After retiring, she spent 18 years wintering in New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. She lost one son, Jerry Lee, and is survived by two other sons, James Michael Tellman and his wife Connie of Mesa, Ariz., and John Pat Tellman and his wife Cindy of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Matthew, Carmen and Jennifer; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Private family services will be held at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
