Leroy Even

Leroy Charles Even, 76, of Westphalia, died Sunday, December 12, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on September 8, 1934, in Westphalia, the son of the late Charles Henry and Angela Johanna Hagenhoff Even. He was united in marriage on September 19, 1953, in Folk, to Dorothy Jane Rothove who survives at the home. Leroy was employed with Maries Valley Hatchery for 12 years and with Central Dairy as a Route Salesman for 30 years. Leroy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. Other survivors include: six children, Darlene (Stanley) Woehr, Westphalia; Dennis (Laura) Even, Folk; Debbie (Ed) Thompson, Joplin; Douglas (Martha) Even, Westphalia; Darin (Jennifer) Even, Meta; Duane Even, Westphalia; five grandchildren, Ashley Even, Samantha Even, Zachary Even, Joshua Even, Alex Even; and one brother, Roman (Carol) Even, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Even. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, P.O. Box 205, Westphalia, MO 65085.
