Kristina Marie Caldwell, age 40, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital due to complications from COVID. Kristina was born January 1, 1981, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of Thomas George and Janene (Cozart) Jones. She was married on February 28, 2004, in Taos, Mo. to Brian Scott Caldwell. Kristina was a 1999 graduate of Jefferson City High School and cherished her time playing on the softball team and the relationships she had with her teammates. She was a natural at softball and was able to continue her career into college. She graduated from Columbia College in 2003, with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Management. She was named as an All-American softball player while playing for Columbia College. She loved being around people and had a contagious laugh that would light up any room. She was always upbeat, caring, compassionate, and blessed with a positive attitude towards life. With her personality and love of people, Kristina worked in pharmaceutical sales and was employed by Elly Lilly and Romark for the past 17 years. Kristina is a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Jefferson City and a proud supporter of Blair Oaks Schools. Her world revolved around her daughters and she treasured being a mom. Whether she was taking them shopping, getting manicures and pedicures, running them to appointments, or picking them up and dropping them off at school, she relished each moment. She recently shared her passion of softball by coaching her daughter. With her fun personality and competitive drive, she was able to get the best out of every player. She enjoyed traveling with Brian, especially to the beach where she wanted to retire eventually. Kristina was very social and loved to spend time with her friends. All were encouraged by Kristina to have a good time. Survivors include: her loving husband, Brian; two daughters, Emma Caldwell and Peyton Caldwell of the home; her father, Tom Jones of Jefferson City, Mo.; uncles, James Cozart (Bene) and Jeff Gordon; aunts, Nancy Mantle (Jerry) and Diane Deering (Fred); her mother-in-law, Teresa Caldwell of Vandelia, Mo.; her father-in-law, John Ross (Vickie) of Paris, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Katie Holden, Taylor Warbritton (Chris) and Regina Clausen; brother-in-law, Nicholas "Nick" Ross (Lauren); seven nieces and nephews, John Holden, Jaxon Holden, Elizabeth Ross, Weldon Ross, Matthew Ross, Emily Ross and Loretta Ross; and numerous cousins including Jeremy Cozart (Jessica) and his children, Cooper, Jack and Charley. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janene Jones, on September 2, 2021; an aunt, Jill Schnack; and her maternal grandmother, Susie Cozart. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, with a prayer service held immediately before the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Freeman Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Reverend Monsignor David Cox officiating. A webcast of Kristina's service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday for friends that are not able to attend by going to her memorial page on Freeman Mortuary's website. Graveside services and interment will be held at St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery.
