Jeanette Louise "Jan" Liddy, age 79, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. Jan was born in Jefferson City on May 18, 1942, to Cletus John Oscar and Martha (Mattie) Louise (Vaughan) Haid. Jan grew up on a farm in Cedar City, Missouri and graduated from Jefferson City High School. She attended cosmetology school and took business classes from Lincoln University. Jan was united in marriage in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on July 26, 1991, to Robert James Liddy Jr., who survives at the home. Jan retired from the State of Missouri on June 1, 1997, with over 23 years of service. Her professional career included many years with the State of Missouri, Dental Board - Missouri Division of Professional Registration followed by employment with the Missouri Hospital Association. After moving to Albuquerque, N.M., Jan worked for Decades, LLC for nearly three years. Jan was an avid lover of dogs and fiercely loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and the midnight skies of New Mexico. Jan is survived by her husband, Robert James Liddy Jr., USAF Lt Col (RET); brother, Oscar George (OG) Haid and his wife June, Hartsburg; son, Kevin (Tracy) Upschulte, Jefferson City; daughter, Julie (Randy) Cole, Taos; and son, Eric Upschulte, Albuquerque, N.M. Jan was blessed with six grandchildren, Brad and Matthew (Allex) Hembree, Kael and Carson Upschulte, and Maitlyn and Marissa Nienhueser; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a great-granddaughter, Blakely Lynn Ruppel. Visitation will be 9-11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City, Missouri. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City. The family asks that all guests attending services wear a mask and practice social distancing. Memorials are suggested to Jefferson City Humane Society.
