David George Stevens

David George Stevens, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born March 21, 1946, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late Charles and Josephine (Kempker) Stevens. He was a 1964 graduate of Russellville High School. David served in the Missouri National Guard for six years. He was united in marriage on May 4, 1968, in Freeburg, Missouri to Laurice T. Dickneite, who survives at the home. David joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as an electrician. He worked the majority of his career at the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant. Following his retirement from the power plant, he worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections in the Engineering Department. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Russellville and the Knights of Columbus. David was a true "jack of all tradesman/handyman." He enjoyed working on engines, working outside on the farm, and especially liked being on his Kubota tractor. His greatest love was his time with all his family. Survivors include his wife, Laurice Stevens, Jefferson City; three sons, Ken (Eveleen) Stevens, Jefferson City; Chris (Missy) Stevens, Jefferson City; Matt (Jeena) Stevens, Florida; four grandchildren, Sydney Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Will Stevens, Sam Stevens; one great-grandchild, Camden; and one brother, Johnny (Diane) Stevens, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Russellville with a rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Russellville with the Rev. Louis Nelen officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Michael Catholic Church. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
