Linda Raye Scrivner, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 20, 1951, a daughter of the late Ray and Irma (Leigers) Kleffner. She was married on December 30, 2010, in Versailles to Ronald Sheely, who survives of the home. Linda was born at St. Mary's Hospital and lived her entire life in the Jefferson City community. She was a 1969 graduate of Helias High School. Linda began her 41-year career with Scholastic, Inc. in September 1969. Her first position held was an Order Processing clerk in Book Clubs. As the company grew Linda began advancing to higher positions throughout the company. Her second position was a move to becoming a HR assistant for many years. In 1987 she was selected and promoted to supervisor to oversee the transition of the Magazine Division to Jefferson City. She spent eight weeks in N.Jj learning every aspect to ensure a smooth and successful transition. She then went on to oversee the entire postage division being responsible for all postage for the mailing of Scholastic's magazines, which she excelled at and changed many procedures to reduce mailing costs for the Magazine Division. After being in the Magazine Division in multiple positions, she went on to her last position of being promoted to Manager of the Accounting Department overseeing many different areas within that department. Linda was a person who wanted to succeed, and she was very successful at accomplishing her goals. She was a very highly recognized professional employee within the Scholastic Corporation family. Linda loved her family and loved nothing more than spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, taking their camper to the mountains out west for weeks or sometimes months at a time. At home her outdoor time was often spent tooling around in the yard, sitting on the screened-in porch, in the pool or around a good campfire; she could often be spotted in a swing belonging to her mom and dad. In her earlier years she was an avid bowler. She had many close friends she enjoyed spending time with and had very special friendships within her Scholastic "family", and she especially looked forward to her monthly lunches with her dear friend, Darlene. She is survived by her husband: Ron; children: Alison Wade (Jared) of Jefferson City and Aaron Mooney of Columbia; step-children: Lyle Sheely (Paulla) and Chris Sheely; grandchildren: Courtney McCulloch (Toni), Kelsey Munter (Josh), Sam Wade, Alex Oppenheim (Starr) and Logan Oppenheim; great-grandchildren: Tori, Paul, Lucas and Archer; brother: Roger Kleffner; and brothers-in-law: Donnie Walker and Larry Sheely. Private family inurnment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held soon after. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109, (573) 636-3838.
