Nancy E. Franke

Nancy E. Franke, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Villa Marie. She was born on January 26, 1933, a daughter of the late John and Margarette (Ramey) Taylor. She was united in marriage on July 23, 1965 to Louis Franke, who preceded her in death on February 24, 2006. Nancy was a 1952 graduate of St. Peters High School. She worked in the office at Tweedie Shoe Company, and was a financial aid counselor at Lincoln University. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Sodality, St. Peters Chorale, the Eagles 2693, and a past president of the auxiliary. She loved her poodles and horse; liked fishing and reading. She is survived by one step-daughter: Deborah Mitchell of Braidwood, Illinois; surviving family members include Patricia Palmes, Loretta Wright, Harry Taylor and James Bohannan, including numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Louis, and two brothers, John Taylor and Robert Taylor. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Jeremy A. Secrist officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Peters Catholic Church or to the Vogelweid Learning Center.
