Margaret Sankey

Margaret Clara Sankey, age 86, of Freeburg, passed from this life Monday, November 22, 2021, at her residence. She was born February 20, 1935, at Freeburg, a daughter of Fritz William and Regina Magdalena (Morfeld) Falter She was united in marriage November 19, 1960, at Freeburg, to Gregory Otto Sankey, and to this union, four children were born. Margaret was a member of St. Boniface Catholic, Koeltztown, and a 1953 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker to her husband and family and was always a person helping with whatever needed to be done on the family farm. Margaret was an excellent gardener, canning and preserving all the bounty, and then cooking and baking her hard work into delicious meals, since she was an excellent cook. She was a person who truly appreciated the beauty of nature and lately enjoyed doing word search with her husband. Those left to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sankey include: her husband, Greg, of their home near Freeburg; two sons, David Sankey (Karen) of Argyle, and Glenn Sankey (Christy) of Koeltztown; one daughter, Carol Jones (Larry) of Koeltztown; daughter-in-law, Cara Sankey of Freeburg; eight grandchildren, Katalin Holtmeyer (Patrick), Matthew Jones (Alexandra), Cayla Sankey, Sierra Sankey, Zachary Sankey, Maranda Jones, Scott Sankey, and Kaylee Sankey; six step-grandchildren, Lynne Brandt, Paul Wieberg, Betsy Watring, T.J. Cardwell, Samantha Wallace, and Johnny Stein; one brother, Harold Falter (Judy) of Freeburg; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Keith Jerome Sankey, on July 9, 2018; her father, Fritz, on September 18, 1982; her mother, Regina, on January 17, 1968; three brothers, Felix Conrad Falter on August 16, 2006, Roman Joseph Falter on January 18, 2018, and Ambrose Louis Falter on July 24, 2010; and one sister, Georgia Catherine Boehmer on September 3, 2019. Visitation for Mrs. Margaret Sankey will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 26, 2021, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 3982 Highway T, Koeltztown, MO 65048, with her Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik as the celebrant and Rev. Basil Tigga and Deacon Michael Brooks assisting, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Interment for Mrs. Sankey will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Koeltztown, with Matthew Jones, Zachary Sankey, Scott Sankey, Larry Jones, Patrick Holtmeyer, and Steve Falter serving as her pallbearers.
