Sonny Williams, 73, of Vienna, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Sonny was born in Alexandria, La., on January 12, 1948, to Lehman and Daisy Williams. Lehman was a physical therapist for the VA and Daisy was a homemaker. Sonny attended Bossier High School and upon graduation attended Louisiana Tech. It was during this time he met his future wife, Deborah Kress. Sonny and Debi were married on July 24, 1971. Shortly after, Sonny came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In 1974 they moved to Lawrence, Kan. where they settled and raised their family. The family fellowshipped at the Lawrence Bible Chapel. Sonny worked at King of Jeans in downtown Lawrence for several years, then started a locksmith business which he operated until the mid '80s. Sonny went to work for Allen Press and ended his career there as a director after 15 years. Shortly after, Sonny and Debi were led by the Lord to go into full time ministry. They were commended by the Lawrence Bible Chapel as full time workers and relocated to Freeburg, Mo. where they have served at Turkey Hill Ranch Bible Camp since 2001 and fellowshipped at Jefferson City Bible Chapel. Sonny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debi, and their six children: Elizabeth R. Burnsworth and her husband Marc Burnsworth of Lawrence, Kan. and their two children; Kristopher L. Williams and his wife Christina of Eudora, Kan. and their four children; Jacob A. Williams and his wife Maria of Lawrence, Kan. and their three children; Micah S. Williams and his wife Cristina of Watsonville, Calif. and their four children; Isaac B. Williams and his wife Crystal of Jefferson City, Mo. and their four children; and Ashley H. Allan and her husband Jimmy Allan of Freeburg, Mo. and their four children. In addition to his wife, six children, 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Sonny was also survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Lyn Farwell; two nieces and a nephew: Debra, Sheron and Caroll; Aunt Dean and many beloved Louisiana cousins. There are countless others that considered Sonny a father, grandfather, brother and friend. "All their life in this world and all the adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story, which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before."
