Marjorie Marie Elliott, 87, of Clarksburg, Mo., passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the California Care Center. She was born January 6, 1934, in Sedalia to Dan and Martha (Faber) Kerns, who preceded her in death at an early age. Her sister, Florence, raised her on a farm at Flat Creek in Sedalia. They later moved to town for her to attend Sacred Heart Schools where she graduated high school. She met the love of her life James "Buddy" Elliott and was united in marriage on June 23, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo. where they lived for a few years until they bought land in the country. Margie stayed on the farm all week to prepare for the move while Buddy went back and forth to the city for his job. Before she met Buddy she worked two jobs and always desired to be a home decorator one day till she got in the country and began enjoying life on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, helping others and especially the regular craft shows every year with her brother and his wife. She was always thinking about others before herself. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Miller (Fred) of Clarksburg, Mo.; one son, Kenny Scott (Cindy) of Tipton, Mo.; four granddaughters Jessica Johnson (Anthony) of Clarksburg, Mo., Marie Scott of Tipton, Mo., Evelyn Scott of California, Mo. and Michelle Scott; one grandson, Jason Miller (Crystal) of Jefferson City, Mo.; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. "Buddy Elliott on February 28, 2018; one sister, Florence Tickameyer; and three brothers, Floyd, Roy and Donald Kerns. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services directly following at 11 a.m., all at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Leroy Moon. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery or Alzheimers Association, c/o the funeral home.
