Beverly A. (Becker) Carrender, age 81, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, surrounded by her family. Beverly was born on September 11, 1939, in Jefferson City, Mo., the first child of A.C. "Hop" and Zarabelle (Bret) Becker. She was in the first graduating class of Helias High School in 1957. She married her husband, Glenn E. Carrender, in 1958 and settled in Independence, Mo. They were founding members of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence where she spent many years working as a church secretary and bookkeeper. She leaves behind her husband, Glenn, of Blue Springs; her sons, Bret (and Kellie) of Blue Springs; Greg of Independence; and Brian (and Lori) of Blue Springs; along with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Charlotte (and Stan) Veit of Jefferson City, Mo.; and Mary (and Joe) Poepsel of Anna, Texas; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alan B. Becker. A visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence on Friday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside service immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, Mo. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be shared at www.speakschapel.com.
