Generose C. Dudenhoeffer, age 92, of Linn, formerly of Frankenstein, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at SSM Health St. Mary's in Jefferson City. Generose was born on September 12, 1928, in Loose Creek, a daughter to the late Joseph and Rose Mary (Jaegers) Gentges. Generose was a 1947 graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians High School in Frankenstein. On May 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to George J. Dudenhoeffer at Our Lady Help of Christian Catholic Church in Frankenstein. George preceded her in death on July 23, 2015. In addition to being a homemaker, Generose worked as a cook for St. Mary's School, a cake decorator and ran her own catering business. Generose was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein, VFW Post 4756 Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and the Lady Sodality where she held various offices. Generose enjoyed playing cards, quilting, gardening, cooking, and embroidery. She and George also loved to dance. Generose is survived by: two sons, William "Bill" J. Dudenhoeffer and his wife Donna of Ozark and Dale A. Dudenhoeffer of Chamois; six daughters, Rosemary A. Bell and her special friend Rick Kettler of Blue Eye, Donna J. Hardesty and her husband Steve of Kirkwood, Nancy M. Dudenhoeffer of Jefferson City, Janet A. Hespen and her husband Jerry of New Melle, Linda S. Foulk and her husband Dennis of Jefferson City, and Lisa J. Ruettgers and her husband Jerry of Loose Creek; one brother, James Gentges of Bonnots Mill; one sister-in-law, Sharon Gentges of Bonnots Mill; 20 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with numerous nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends. In addition to her parents and husband of 67 years, Generose was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Richard Gentges; two sisters and their husbands, Betty and James Keller and Virginia and Bob Kirsch; and one sister-in-law, Kay Gentges. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. Colin Franklin and Fr. Daniel J. Merz Concelebrating. Interment will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
