Vivian Mae Cayce, 81, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Valley Park Retirement Home with her loving family at her side. She was born on November 10, 1939, in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Fay Clinton Holt and the late Luvenia Cave-Washington. Vivian attended Lincoln Lab School and graduated from Nichols Career Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse. For 30 years she was employed with Capital Region Medical Center in the obstetrics department and helped to deliver hundreds of babies, some whom were even named after her. She was an active member of Quinn Chapel and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed but knowing she has gone home to Glory and been reunited with her Savior and beloved son, Patrick, helps to ease the sorrow. She is survived by her father, Fay Clinton Holt; sons, Terrell "Wayne" Cayce (Lori) of Holts Summit and William "Billy" Cayce of Jefferson City; daughter, Helen "Carole" Cayce of Jefferson City; brothers, Gary "Butch" Holt (Nancy) of Martinsville, Virginia, Kenneth Holt of Jefferson City and Stanley Holt of Jefferson City; sisters, Brenda Griffin (Richard) of Jefferson City and Beulah Mahaney of Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Vivian was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Ramon Cayce on June 26, 2013. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Quinn Chapel AME Church. Home Going Celebration will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Cassandra Gould officiating. Masks will be required for all in attendance.
