Paul Clifford Helmig, 94, of Linn, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was born on August 29, 1926, in Judge, Missouri, a son of the late George and Blanch (Carwile) Helmig. Clifford attended Osage County Schools and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was owner/operator of various businesses over the years including a tire shop and a gas station. Clifford also cut and sold cord wood for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent many hours in his garden and in the woods searching for mushrooms. Clifford loved going to auctions and square dancing with friends. Most of all, he cherished the times spent with his family. He is survived by his children: Lola Berendzen (Gail), Sherry Bax, (Adlai), Kim Rademan (Bernie), Lorna Helmig, Dana Helmig and Paul Helmig; sisters: Bernice Kloeppel and Delorce Sallin; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter: Donna June and siblings: Inez Higgins, Ted Helmig, Henry Helmig, Larry Helmig and infant sister: Lena Helmig. A private family graveside service will be held at Lane Cemetery in Osage County at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lane Church Cemetery Fund or the local Humane Society.
