Frances Irene (Scott) Taggart, 86, of Jefferson City, Mo., went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 10, 2021, in Springfield, Mo. Frances was born in Russellville, Mo. on October 4, 1934, and graduated from Russellville High School in 1952. She worked at the Missouri Highway Department after high school where she met the love of her life, Curtis Taggart. Once married, she was a stay at home mom until she went to work at the Missouri Public School Retirement System. Frances was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to so many. Her gifts were giving and hospitality for sure. She was active in her church, mentored in the public schools, and provided love and comfort through words and actions to anyone she felt needed a touch. Her priority after serving Jesus was her family. She would give anything, give up anything, do anything, share anything with her family. She even used her home for Christ. So many friends and family gatherings and dinners happened in that home. She and Dad never hesitated to invite you in for a visit, a meal, dessert, coffee, gamesthe list goes on. Frances is preceded in death by Archie and Edna Scott (father and mother), Forrest Scott (brother), Ethelyn Scott (sister), Evelyn Shikles (sister), Nelda Smith (sister), Mildred Jobe (sister), Donna Sue Scott (sister), and James Lowell Scott (brother). Frances is survived by Curtis Taggart (husband), Kathy Arnold (daughter) and Michael Arnold (son in law), Sara Wilson (daughter) and Jeff Wilson (son in law), Brian and Katie Parrish (granddaughter), Chris and Ashley Boschen (granddaughter), Josh and Cherish Wilson (grandson), Chris and Amanda Wilson (grandson), Loretta Raithel (sister), Kharis and Benny Parrish, Jackson Stockstill, Henry, Tucker and Joshua Boschen, Seth, Sutton, Sawyer, Shepherd Wilson (great-grandchildren), many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 301 E Capitol Ave., Jefferson City, Mo. with funeral service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Enloe Cemetery, 55130 Highway C, Russellville, Mo. Because of the pandemic, the family has chosen to be as cautious as possible and a meal will not be served. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to First Baptist Church in Jefferson City childrens department. She loved working with children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
