Anita C. TheroffJuly 14th, 2021
Annita C. Theroff, 76, of Oak Grove, Mo., passed away July 2, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with Sjogren's Syndrome that progressed into systemic sclerosis. She was born on March 22, 1945, in a two-story log cabin in Freedom, Mo., Camden County, to Ruth A. and Carroll J. Moore. Annita was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs, Mo. She was a graduate of Russellville High School and UMKC with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Education with an emphasis on behavioral disorders. Annita loved teaching children. She worked in the Grain Valley School District, touching many students lives, through her 20 years of teaching. Her fellow teachers were her best friends and supported her all the way to the end of her life. She was small but mighty and full of smiles, sunshine and rainbows that continued even through the pain of a decades long illness. Prior to this, she loved the outdoors. When Annita was a child, she earned the nickname "Skeeter" as she would flit about, climb trees, fish, and enjoy all that God had created. She had a fierce love for her family and taught how to love through her selflessness, devotion, kindness and caring. She was preceded in death by siblings, Rita Sue Moore (infant), Donald L. Moore and Linda F. Frank; her mother, Ruth A. Hollandsworth-Moore; and father, Carroll J. Moore. She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Marvin; children, Eric Theroff of Shawnee, Kan.; Erin Huff (Don) of Lenexa, Kan.; grandchildren, Kurtis Huff (Lenexa, Kan.); Ben Theroff (Maryville, Mo.); Kenton Huff (Norman, Okla.); Daniel Theroff (Lake Tapawingo, Mo.); brothers and sisters, Dorothy Koestner of Jefferson City, Mo., John David Moore (Joan) of St. Martins, Mo., Brenda G. Porter of Columbia, Mo.; Jamie M. Moore (Janet) of New Bloomfield, Mo.; Ronnie G. Moore (Robin) of Russellville, Mo. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, Mo. A second visitation will be held from 10:00 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church 4420 Stringtown Rd, Lohman, Mo. with memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. at the church. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Timothy Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Church, or the Sjogren's Foundation. Annita requested prior to her passing that her services be casual and uplifting. She loved colorful clothing and requested no black please! She is now free from pain and wants everyone to come celebrate her life.
