Dorothe McCallister Pappenfort, age 100, died peacefully in her independent living apartment at Heisinger Bluffs Thursday, January 21, 2021. Born June 19, 1920, in Bowling Green, Missouri, Mrs. Pappenfort was the daughter of Raymond W. and Sophia Fritz McCallister. She married Carson R Pappenfort on July 2, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Pappenfort was proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, Raymond W. McCallister Jr.; and her husband, Carson who passed in Kimberling City, Mo. in 2014. Dorothe lived in Louisiana, Missouri during her childhood. She graduated from Louisiana High School and attended Lincoln University after moving to Jefferson City in 1949. She lived in Jefferson City for over 50 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. After retiring from the Girl Scout office, she and her husband lived in Tucson, Arizona during the winter months. In 2000, she and her husband moved to Kimberling City, Mo. When her husband passed in 2014, she moved back to Jefferson City. Mrs. Pappenfort participated in many social organizations and enjoyed many activities including golf, swimming and playing bridge. Survivors include her three children, Ranne Pappenfort Warner, and her husband, Raynor, of Massachusetts; Robert W. Pappenfort of Texas; Cary Pappenfort of Jefferson City and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Noonan Pappenfort of Texas. She had five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four nieces and six nephews. Mrs. Pappenfort's body was cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Her ashes will be buried in Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri next to her husband.
