Richard Eugene Slawson

Richard Eugene Slawson, 57, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away January 12, 2021, at his home. He was the son of Lester and Janice Thompson Slawson and was born on June 11, 1963, in St. Louis, Mo. Richard worked for the News Tribune in Jefferson City, Mo. for more than 20 years, where he took great pride in his work as the Mailroom Manager and his co-workers were like family to him. In his down time, Richard loved to jam out on his guitar. Richard also loved to fish and deer hunt. He had many barbecues with family, as he loved to spend time with them and cook for them. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Penny Slawson of Holts Summit, Mo.; five children, Taylor Slawson (Austin) of Wentzville, Mo., Amanda Perkins (Tony) of St. James, Mo., Ashley Slawson (Mehmert) of St. James, Mo., Shane Slawson of Rolla, Mo.; and step-daughter, Kendelle Palmer of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren, Skyler, Dylan, Kayden Slawson of St. James, Mo.; step-granddaughter, Alaina Palmer of Quincy, Ill.; one brother, Roy Slawson (Bambi) of St. James, Mo.; three sisters, Cindy Smith of Savannah, Georgia, Judy Kimbrough (Henry) of Sarasota, Florida, Amanda Wright Lynch (Samuel) of Springfield, Mo.; step-father, Harvey Wright of St. Louis, Mo. and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Richard was cremated and no services will be held at this time.
