Donna L. Bentlage, 74, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. She was born on November 8, 1946, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late Richard D. and Eileen L. (Parker) Snellen. Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Victor L. Bentlage on June 13, 1964, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City. Donna was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was a loving wife and devoted mother of their five beautiful children. Donna also managed the family businesses which included Vic Bentlage Construction and Bentlage Rental Properties. She was a licensed real estate agent and broker who enjoyed helping people design their homes. Donna was known for her caring heart and generosity to family, friends and several charities. Donna was always willing to lend an ear or offer some of her no-nonsense advice. When her children attended St. Martin's School, she loved helping with the CYO youth group especially chaperoning their many trips. Donna enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bingo and watching the Olympics. She was a very talented and intelligent lady. Donna could complete crossword puzzles in mere minutes and had a memory full of their entire family genealogy. She was an inspiring writer and loved poetry. Donna's greatest memories were made with her family. She was the anchor of our large family and she will truly be missed. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vic Bentlage; five children: Kelly Burton (Bill), Kent Bentlage (Cindy), Heather Renkemeyer (Scott), Vanessa Starr (Randy) and Gretchen Crane (Jeff); 14 grandchildren: Lindsay Burton (Gerald), Garrett Burton (Courtney), Spencer Burton (Christy), Caitlin Claspill (Ryan), Jared Bentlage, Carissa Bentlage, Grace Renkemeyer, Ashlyn Gautam (Allen), Zane Greeno (Haley), Sage Bentlage, Jenson Starr, Hannah Crane, Ryan Crane, Chloe Crane; eight great-grandchildren: Bentley Chambers, Max Burton, Avery Claspill, Aspen Claspill, Heath Gautam, Harlow Gautam, Lennon Greeno and Scarlet Greeno; brother: Donnelly Snellen; sisters-in-law: Patty Snellen, Janice Bonnot (Bill), Susie Weiss (John), Cindy Felten (Earl) and Kathy Bentlage (Mark) and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Sue Rudroff; brother: Jay Snellen and beloved granddaughter: Jade Renkemeyer. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. A private celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, with interment following in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
