Stephen "Steve" Repetto, age 71, passed away on January 10, 2021. He was a caring husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He left this world too soon . Steve married Gayle Zurheide in 1988, and happily enjoyed their lives together for the past 31 years. In 2011, Steve was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Steve was not crushed by his failing capacity, but persevered by staying active and social as he so loved. Steve was born on July 8, 1949. After graduating from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Mo., Steve went to work for IBM in 1972. IBM recognized Steve's hard work and successful client relationships with many awards, exotic trips and accolades. Steve retired from IBM in 2002. After retiring, Steve continued his success as a businessman by launching Ozark Future, LLC with friend and partner Ray Porschen, building beautiful homes at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Steve loved spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, listening to music with friends, riding his bicycle and barbecuing for guests. Steve chased his dream to live at the Lake of the Ozarks, and enjoyed living there for many years. Yet, Missouri's cold winters and his love for fishing solidified Steve's desire to live in Florida for his retirement years. Between the Florida keys and Fort Myers Beach, Steve became a Floridian island boy, chasing as many fish as possible with boating or bicycling as the preferred means of transportation. Steve's success in life was the many friendships he created and strangers he made into friends. He loved to laugh, entertain and make every moment a social hour, "the more the merrier." Steve's greatest joy in his remaining years at Fort Myers Beach was playing the cowbell with the bluesy bass player Deb Biela, her band, Deb and the Dynamics. Much fun was had by all watching him gleefully dance and play. His love of people, social engagement and activity will go unmatched. Steve loved his family dearly. He is survived by: loving wife, Gayle Repetto; brother, Scott (Jeanie) Moser; sister, Sandy Moser; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. An outdoor funeral service and interment in the Peace Garden is scheduled for 11 a.m. on January 28, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3751 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, Fla. St. Peter was the only church Steve ever loved. He and Gayle would walk to church and attend joyfully. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. Peter Lutheran church on his behalf.
