Jordan Richard Scheulen, age 38, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, following a brief hospitalization at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born in Jefferson City on December 17, 1982, son of Richard Scheulen and Mary (Bax) Scheulen Leffler. While many times eulogies have a generic flow to them, to his family and friends, Jordan was anything but generic. A man of true passion, he made deep connections with all those around him. Jordan cared immensely for his entire family but relished in mentoring and spoiling his beautiful nieces Kameron and Rosemary and was an honorary uncle to many more. His wit was unmatched, his love was apparent, and his laugh was contagious. Jordan's competitive nature fueled his love for sports, but it was obvious that the Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals had his heart. He found peace on the golf course with his cousins and friends, and solace in nature. He was a culinary artist with a zest for perfection, and he could breakdown a hog with his eyes closed. His tenacity and teamwork extended to his co-workers at IGT, where he was employed since 2016 as an Administrative Casino and Lottery Services Professional II. Jordan gave the best hugs and called his Mom faithfully every Sunday for their weekly chats. A dapper man with a hat to match every outfit, Jordan always came prepared" safety first, then teamwork" goes without saying. Jordan's passing leaves a monumental void in the hearts of his family and friends, leaving those who loved him heartbroken. To know him is to love him. Gone but not forgotten. it is impossible to forget someone who gave others so much to remember and cherish. He is survived by his mother, Mary Leffler of Madison, Ind.; father, Richard Scheulen of Meta; step-father, Ronald Leffler of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Faythe Scheulen of Jefferson City; brother, Derrick Scheulen of Meta; step-sister, Kyla Eaton, of Louisville, Ky.; two nieces, Kameron and Rosemary Scheulen; his faithful dog companion, Doc; numerous friends, but especially the "Fab Five" and Rocky; along with many cousins, extended family, and friends. Jordan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Bertha Bax and George and Elizabeth Scheulen. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 5 p.m., on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with Pastor Gerald Scheperle officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jordan Scheulen Memorial Fund. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.fancher-rekusfunderalhomes.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta, Missouri.
