Roger Dale Fischer

Roger Dale Fischer, age 74, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021, due to cancer. He was born May 25, 1946, the son of the late Norman F. and Lorena Fern (Smith) Fischer. Roger attended elementary school at St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from Morgan County R-1 High School, Stover, Missouri in 1964. Roger served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2002. Roger served as a great example of one who, by God's grace and His help, lived in faith, as he had come to believe according to the Scriptures. While many remember his passion for running, he will be best remembered by those closest to him as one who finished the race which the Lord set for him to His glory. Survivors include his former wife, Sherry Capps Fischer and their children, Sonya Baumgartner (Cory Fischer), Christopher Fischer (Michelle) and six grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Franken (Smith-Merriott) and Norma June Adams (Smith-Merriott); uncles, Delbert Smith and Vaughn Smith; aunt, Joan Burnett; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A private graveside service will take place at Stover Cemetery, Stover, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
