Francis "Frank" Leo Cox

Francis "Frank" Leo Cox, 66, of Holts Summit, passed away at his home on January 6, 2021. He was born on December 7, 1954, in Houston, Texas, a son of the late Francis Leo and Mary Ellen (Dealy) Cox. After graduating from high school, Frank joined the United States Army and proudly served for 20 years. He began his military career as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. While in the Army he trained as a photo journalist and wrote for Soldiers Magazine. He earned a Master's degree in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University. Frank began a career with the Missouri Department of Corrections and served the state for 15 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing poker, traded stocks for fun and was currently writing a few books. He loved his family greatly and making memories with his children and adored grandson, Jackson were times he treasured. He will be greatly missed. Frank is survived by his children; Megan Cox DiVito (Mike), Jacob and Samuel Cox; brothers; John Cox and Kenneth Hixon; sister, Valerie Hixon Henderson (Michael); and grandson, Jackson Thomas DiVito. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Ellen Dealy and aunt, Gayle Maris. Family and friends will be received January 15, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m at Grace Lutheran Church, Holts Summit. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Mike Diner officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Missouri Veteran's Home.
