Dennis Allen Lamb Sr., 80, of Chamois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Jefferson City Manor. He was born on August 30, 1940, in Osage County, a son of the late Estel and Marion (Blaske) Lamb. Dennis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lucille Dudenhoeffer on April 30, 1960, in Frankenstein, Missouri. Dennis was a 1957 graduate of Chamois High School. He worked for Elmer Boss Trucking, ABB, and Huot Brothers Trucking. Dennis began his career with the MFA Exchange in the 1970's and continued for over 40 years until his final retirement. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Baileys Creek Cemetery Board. Dennis loved the Christmas season. He was an active member of the community serving for over 40 years as the Chamois Santa Clause for both community and family celebrations. Dennis enjoyed working outdoors with his tractor, plowing snow and gardens, and taking care of his cows. Most of all, he cherished the times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He never met a stranger and was kind to all. He will truly be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille; children: Dennis Lamb Jr. (Karen) of Jefferson City, Anthony "Tony" Lamb (Sherri) of Westphalia, Teresa Skaggs (Rob) of Chamois, Charles "Chuck" Lamb (DeAnna) of Morrison, Celia McKague (Jeremy) of Chamois and Leshia Kempker (B.J.) of Chamois; brother: Daniel Lamb (Mary Ann); aunt: Darlie Lamb; 17 grandchildren: Kyle (Olivia), Cody (Sarah), Sam (Rebekah), Dean (Jenny), Candi (Joe), Ashley, Nikki (Nick), Lucas, Haley (Jarrett), Autumn (Ben), Gwen, Mason, Alexandra, Max, Rex, Jorja, Carson and Collin; 10 great-grandchildren: Alexa, Grant, Nolan L., Blaise, Korban, Cassie, Payton, Natalie, Nolan B. and Nash and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Donald Lamb and granddaughter: Jessica Skaggs. Friends will be received from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Dave Means officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Baileys Creek Cemetery. The family requests that COVID-19 safety practices be followed during services.
