Melba Ann Weavers

Melba Ann Weavers, 87, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on January 29, 1934, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late, John and Hilda (Wolken) Fassbinder. Melba was united in marriage on September 10, 1955, to James O. Weavers who preceded her in death in 2013. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Peter Catholic High School in Jefferson City. Melba enjoyed painting, drawing, reading, fishing, visiting with her sisters and watching television. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. Melba is survived by her children: Greg Weavers, Cindy Weavers, Norman Weavers (Janice), Yvonne Giesing (William), John Weavers (Tammy), Laura Weavers and Kevin Weavers; four sisters: Nancy Backes, Judy Springer, Mary Ruettgers and Diane Libbert; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Melba was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Weavers; three sisters: Wanda, Glenda and Joan; grandson: John; and one great-grandson; Nathaniel. Friends were received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Penn officiating. Interment followed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
