Glen Ray Johnson, 58, of New Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Jefferson City on February 4, 1963, to the late Howard Johnson and the late Peggy (Ray) Johnson. Glen was raised from the age of five by his step-mother, Jo Ann Johnson. On September 26, 1981, Glen was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jina (Trammell) Johnson, who survives his passing. Glen worked as a Crane Operator for Scott's Crane Rental and was a member of IUOE Local 513, where he was known as Zippy or Foreman by his co-workers. He also worked for Boyce Autobody and his first job was for Broom's Autobody. Glen was a Mr. Fix-It and Jack of All Trades who loved tinkering. There was not a challenge too big or a job too hard that he couldn't overcome. His hobbies included taking walk-abouts, which was shelling on the beach, side-by-side rides, watching Chiefs games, and going to Cardinal games. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends and also his dog Natural. Glen will be fondly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Jina; son, Drace Johnson (Lindsey) of New Bloomfield; daughter, Cheznae Mumpower (Tim) of New Bloomfield; step-mother, Jo Ann Johnson of Centertown; brothers, Dale Johnson (Theresa) of Holts Summit, Rick Raithel of Lohman, and Mark Raithel (Karen) of Centertown; sisters, Vicki Sawyer of Excelsior Springs, and Tammy Mertens of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Dakota Johnson, Deklin Johnson, Lily Mumpower, Ava Mumpower, and Lincoln Johnson; father-in-law, James Trammell (Donna) of Holts Summit; brother-in-law, Jay Trammell (Angie); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Judy Trammell, and brother-in-law, Karl Mertens. A Celebration of Glen's life will be held at a later date.
