Nancy Lee Capps, 77, of Jefferson City, passed away on April 19, 2021, at her home. She was born on November 22, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a daughter of the late Loren and Hazel (Lee) Pitman. Nancy was united in marriage on November 24, 1967, in Kansas City to Herbert "Lee" Capps. She was a 1961 graduate of Morehead High School in Morehead, Minnesota. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Political Science in 1965, from Morehead State College. Through the years she worked at several places but her most beloved "job" was that of mother. Nancy was a devoted mom who spent countless hours taking her children and herself to skating practice, designing and sewing costumes, coaching and participating in whatever capacity was required. She was also a member and past president of the Jefferson City Figure Skating Club. She was a volunteer and then Program Director for Girl Scouts of America Heart of Missouri Council for many years and was also a troop leader. Her children's friends adored her and she was a mom to all. Nancy had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. She was a devoted member of Grace Episcopal Church and was active on many committees, including the Alter Guild and was a member of the choir. She will be greatly missed. Nancy is survived by her children: Philip and Jennifer Capps; sister, Cheryl Ocker; cats, Maggie Mae, McGee and Murphy; and grand dog, Toodles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lee Capps. Services will be held at a later date.
